The Château de Raousset, as it exists today, was built around 1850 by the Count of Raousset. From the very beginning, the Château was able to distinguish itself qualitatively since, shortly after its foundation, Napoleon III already awarded several medals in recognition of the quality of the wines produced. This quality is essentially linked to the terroirs of the three crus CHIROUBLES, FLEURIE and MORGON which are among the most renowned. Nowadays, Château de Raousset is still owned by the founding family.
The history of Château de Raousset is intimately linked to the Beaujolais region and to the commune of Chiroubles in particular. Anchored in the Beaujolais region since the end of the 19th century, the estate has participated in the national and international influence of the Chiroubles, Fleurie and Morgon crus since its origin.
The Château currently manages 25 hectares of vines spread over the three crus. The entire estate is planted with black Gamay with white juice on granite soils with varying degrees of clay depending on the appellation, with the Morgon appellation having the richest soils.
Located in the "Grille-Midi" climate, the Fleurie du Château de Raousset presents all the finesse of this renowned Beaujolais cru. The color is intense carmine red, with a nose developing aromas of flowers (iris, violet) and red fruits (cherry, blackcurrant). The very aromatic mouth of this Fleurie presents a remarkable elegance and a beautiful finesse.
The place named "Grille Midi" gives the wine a remarkable typicity. Elegance and finesse, combined with a round body and fine tannins give this Fleurie "Grille Midi" an atypical profile, much appreciated by lovers of great wines.
